The South Fork Church of Christ in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is accepting applications for a full-time Youth Minister position.
Located in the Piedmont region of central North Carolina, a few hours from beautiful East Coast beaches and Blue Ridge Mountains, South Fork has been a congregation for 60+ years with a diverse and growing congregation (currently 175+ average attendance at Sunday worship). We are blessed with a healthy blend of youth, young families with children, empty nesters, and seniors. South Fork is also the sponsoring congregation for Iglesia de Cristo Brewer Road, a local Hispanic congregation with 240 members and 2 Hispanic ministers. The Youth Minister at South Fork will serve on a ministry team with our lead minister Matt Huddleston, our discipleship minister, Kyle Holton, and actively engaged elders (4) and deacons (15). Our 35 youth members come from about 20 different homes, providing a vibrant demographic of our congregation. Parent and youth involvement is high here at South Fork.
The Youth Minister leads the pastoral care and spiritual direction of our adolescent youth (grades 6–12). The Youth Minister is the chief staff member who facilitates the purpose, mission, and approach of our Youth Ministry by coordinating and implementing the varied activities, events, and learning opportunities essential to youth ministry. These activities are spiritual, social, and service-oriented in nature.
The Youth Minister should hold a degree in Bible, Ministry, Youth Ministry, Counseling, or other relevant areas. Previous experience working with youth is preferred.
With a population of ~248,000, Winston-Salem is known as the “City of the Arts” and is home to the RiverRun International Film Festival, Wake Forest University, Novant Health, Hanes Brands, Krispy Kreme, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
